They were joined by Halima Akther, Principal of AYAT College of Nursing & Health Sciences, along with other distinguished Principals of private nursing colleges to address their leadership challenges, explore opportunities, and collaboratively develop a unified vision for the future of nursing in Bangladesh.
This session highlighted that true leadership is about building relationships, empowering others, taking risks and showcasing a commitment to serve. Our attendees also addressed key challenges in elevating the quality of leadership, such as communication barriers, lack of professionalism, interference from non-nurse leaders, and lack of involvement in policy-making and foundational leadership training. Together, they stressed the importance of stakeholder support and continuous faculty development in order to foster a culture change where nurses are seen and valued as equal stakeholders in the healthcare system.
